Jan 21 Dividend Review

The New Year is here and we are moving right along. January is almost in the record books and the dividends have been tallied.

January was a great month but due to the dividend cut from NRZ and selling APTS I ended up a little short of last years dividend. That’s ok as my portfolio is now better positioned for the long haul. Even with the drop down at the end of January my total portfolio value was higher than last month.

Ticker Dividend
IRM $30.93
PPL $51.88
MPW $19.98
MO $240.40
MAIN $28.57
O $11.89
KDP $16.35
USHYX $46.20
NRZ $94.70
AQN $26.06
Dividend $566.96

Total portfolio value $270,886.64
Forward annual dividend $10,161.89
Trailing 12 months of Dividends $9056.35 Expected dividend 2020 $6803.52
Net worth as of December $469,714.13
No sells
Bought MRCC, MPW, BAC, KO, and SBUX. Those were my main buys this month.
Dividend raises none
Future goals
Future portfolio value of $300,000.00
Forward annual dividends of $15,000.00
Future net worth $500,000
This month I went over $33,800.00 in lifetime dividends.
As I wrap this months report up I’m very pleased with everything. This shows that no matter what you can do the same as I have done and the earlier you start the better off you will be. Just constant buying good quality stocks that raise their value and raise their dividends.

How was your month? Let me know in the comments.

    1. Yeah I was adding to it for awhile but decided when it got above $50 it was too high, don’t remember what price I grabbed this one at. I am hoping the dividend growth returns to Mo and not just looking at small raises for awhile. Time will tell. Thanks for stopping by.

  1. $567 in dividends sounds terrific. The fact that you missed out on YoY growth will be just a speed bump when you look back months from now. It’s good to hear you feel your portfolio is in a better position now though… gotta have a long-term outlook, and I know you do.
MO really packed a punch for you in January. I don’t own much MO, but the yield is so high and its dividend weighting so large for me already that I’ve been reluctant to add more. Hopefully, they get their stock price moving higher again.

  2. I only had 10 shares of nrz beginning of February last year and bought it all the way down to $6, and ended up with 1000+ shares . They’re raising dividends soon, I hope. That should increase it back up to $11-13.

By then I don’t know if I’ll continue to hold 1k shares or wait for it to get back to the $18. 🙂 or buying more so I don’t have to buy another rental property or a fixer upper to fix . 🙂

  3. This is awesome! Love your last few lines as they say it all “This shows that no matter what you can do the same as I have done and the earlier you start the better off you will be. Just constant buying good quality stocks that raise their value and raise their dividends.” It really is that simple. Keep spreading the word.

  4. Great stuff Doug.

Wow that is a monster payout from Mo. Very nice! Do you drip it back into the stock? Thats one I keep debating, I think mo will do very well in the dope space.

    keep it up
    cheers
