February 2020 Dividend Review

image

We are 2 months into the year and the market was marching and initially threw off any bad news that was heading its way then we hit the last week of February and The corona virus  finally started affecting the markets.  I think these things are overblown and the media makes more of it than they should. Some say why catch a falling knife other people I here say they wont invest till this is over. I will continue to buy a little here and a little there just like always and let the market work itself out.

This month saw me hit new high in my portfolio Value only to come crashing down but i am OK with that, because my money is buying  more stock and my dividends that are reinvested will do the same thing as long as the market is down.

My total for the month of is $509.98 If i were to go to my Durango Joes coffee shop at 2.97 a cup times 29 is $86.13.  That would  leave me with a nice $423.85 to put towards my bills.   I am going to eventually put it all back in the stock market, I brought in $17.58 a day.  This is a 1.97 percent decrease over last February. Total for year now I have brought in $1097.14 which drops our total per day  to $18.28.  Total lifetime tracked dividends is $25348.35.  The 12 month estimated dividend stands at $6582.84 based on this month, through the end of 2020. You can see the results after time a mix of dividend reinvestment and adding on my own has helped this tremendously. This month would pay most of my bills. Looking at the chart you can see what percentage of  dividend was from each company this month. You can look at past dividends here.

With $509.98 brought in this month and a total of $1097.14 I am 11.42  percent of my Bronze level goal of $9600.00.   My 12 month out  Prospective dividend rose from $8,782.52 to $8,963.54.

I have been making some changes to my Portfolio,  to streamline it into a portfolio that is driven by dividend increases. The portfolio will be better in the long run because of this. The portfolio page has been updated here.

For those that like total return I am  gonna start including it in here, I myself just care about the dividends but some like the total return

Since June 18 when i first moved my money  through Feb 29, 2020 I have a 11.18% S&p 500 TR is 13.04%  increase. Increase for Feb 1st-Feb 29th i have a -9.03% the S&P 500 is -8.23%. Increase from Jan 1st -Feb 29 -10.19%  S&p 500 TR is -8.27%

Feb 2020 Stock Buys

Another month has passed and what would a month be without a buy or 2? wether the market is up down or sideways  i like to do a little buying. since moving to Merrill Edge i have done buying in smaller increments as there has been no trading fees except for on sells some small fees which are required. I will continue to do what i do and that is buy stocks whether the market is up or down.

November 19 Dividend Review

imageLess than 1 month left in the year.  We have our sights set on finishing out the year strong and finishing this out.  I bought in $446.70 this month. On the monopoly board you go  around the board and collect money except this money is not fake. It is the real deal and the results I have show it. . As the markets turn one day up and the next day down one thing that is basically constant is the dividends hitting my dividend account. One of the goals is to be able to live off the dividends. While i could right now combined with my military retirement and disability, I am not settling and going forward and going to see how much dividend income I can accumulate before I officially call it quits and start using the dividend income. As you can see I was paid 10 times by 10 companies. That comes out to $44.67 per company.  Some dividend reinvestment and additions helped bring this up though it still droopped but that was expected

An addendum to last month I surpassed last years dividend with my last dividend recieved in OCT.

If i were to go to my Durango Joes coffee shop at 2.97 a cup times 30 is $89.10.  That would  leave me with a nice $357.6 to put towards my bills.   I am going to eventually put it all back in the stock market, I brought in 14.89 a day.  This is a 53.50% increase over last September. Total for year now I have brought in $6402.37 which brings our total per day down to $19.16.  Total lifetime tracked dividends is $23165.65. Definitely seeing the results each month. August 2019 Dividend Review

monopoly_goYes we are done with August and onto September. While it is still hot during the day it is cooling down at night and feels great in the morning.  That is what we did was we went around the monopoly board and collected money except this money is not fake. it is the real deal and the results i have show it. of course there are a few disappointments but that was to be expected with some of the dividend cuts and selling. As you can see I was paid 11 times by 11 companies. That comes out to $44.27 per company. 2 new stocks.  Buys and re investments have helped make up the difference. $487.03 less than last year but due to cuts and sells it is expected to be less for awhile but this month will continue to grow. OHI  with its tenant problems was risky so i sold it off and the dividend was cut on AGNC and VOD so it was time to dump those 2 also it looks like we will come out good as those were pushed into other months. This will be the last dividend i receive for VOD

monopoly_go

Jumping July dividends are in the books and we are pleased to show them to you. I love sharing my dividends with you and love reading yours. My goal in this adventure is to get enough to pay all expenses when i take over the house from my MOM we have the house split 50/50 right now.

I have been going through selling some stocks to make my portfolio better which in the long run will benefit me better right now as i generally consider myself a buy and hold guy i do not want to fall in love with a stock where i lose lots of money.  I do not consider buying them a mistake its just that changes in what a want to do with my portfolio and those no longer apply. You can read about the buying and selling here.

As you can see I was paid 12 times by 12 companies. That comes out to $38.91 per company. 6 new stocks.  Buys and re investments have helped make up the difference. $466.95 was a nice haul for the first month of the quarter.

Busy month for buying and selling which you can read about here.

As you can see i was paid 24 times by 23 companies. That comes out to $34.98 per company. 6 new stocks  helped with this month. Then other buys and re investments have helped make up the difference.

If i were to go to my Durango Joes coffee shop at 2.97 a cup times 30 is $89.1.  That would  leave me with a nice $750.49 to put towards my bills.   I am going to eventually put it all back in the stock market, I brought in $27.98 a day.  This is a 20.08 percent increase over last June. Total for year now I have brought in $3470.99 which brings our total per day $19.17.  Total lifetime tracked dividends is $20234.27. Definitely seeing the results each month. The 12 month estimated dividend stands at $6941.98 based on this month, through the end of 2019. You can see the results after time a mix of dividend reinvestment and adding on my own has helped this tremendously. This month would pay 3 of my bills with a little left over, but when i inherit the house i will have more so i want to be able to cover most of those also. Looking at the chart you can see what percentage of  dividend was from each company this month.  You can look at the past dividends page which has now been updated Past Dividends.

With $839.59 brought in this month and a total of $3470.99 I am 47.54 percent of my Bronze level goal of $7300. This month put  some dent in it I was hoping to be at 47 percent percent by this month and i was. This quarter it will probably drop a little before surging back in Quarter 4, I still expect to make my goal this year. My 12 month out  Prospective dividend rose from $6822.34 to 6941.98

I will be making some changes to my Portfolio, not all at once but over time to streamline it into a portfolio that is driven by dividend increases. This will take time and will have some sells and hard decisions. but in the end i will have a better portfolio.

For those that like total return I am  gonna start including it in here, I myself just care about the dividends but some like the total return

Since June 18 when i first moved my money  through April 30, 2019 i have a 8.11%  S&p 500 TR is 11.10%  increase. Increase from Jan 1st -June  30 14.88%  S&p 500 TR is 18.54%  for the month of June it is 6.11% to 7.05%  to the S&P 500 TR.

Also on a side note this month was my first month earning over $1.00. I earned$1.16 on 24 hour pay scale. Onward $2.00.
