Oct 19 Dividend Review

monopoly_go

Less than 2 months left in the year.  We have our sights set on finishing out the year strong and finishing this out. As i looked around the blogosphere and commented on a comment i came to conclusion that once you start getting a nice dividend its like having a part time job without that much work. Review and buy a few stocks and walla next thing you know you have a nice little bit of dividends coming in.

Yes we are done with October and onto November. While it is warm during the day it is cold  at night. $659.82 is what i bought in this month and it makes this the best non quarter ending month ever for me On the monopoly board you go  around the board and collect money except this money is not fake. It is the real deal and the results i have show it. . As the markets turn one day up and the next day down one thing that is basically constant is the dividends hitting my dividend account. One of the goals is to be able to live off the dividends. While i could right now combined with my military retirement and disability, i am not settling and going forward and going to see how much dividend income i can accumulate before I officially call it quits and start using the dividend income. As you can see I was paid 13 times by 13 companies. That comes out to $41.47 per company. 3 new stock and 3 sells throughout the year for this month.  Buys and re investments have helped bring this up.

If i were to go to my Durango Joes coffee shop at 2.97 a cup times 31 is $92.07.  That would  leave me with a nice $567.75 to put towards my bills.   I am going to eventually put it all back in the stock market, I brought in 21.28 a day.  This is a 53.50% increase over last September. Total for year now I have brought in $5955.67 which brings our total per day $19.59.  Total lifetime tracked dividends is $22,718.95. Definitely seeing the results each month. The 12 month estimated dividend stands at $7146.80 based on this month, through the end of 2019. You can see the results after time a mix of dividend reinvestment and adding on my own has helped this tremendously. This month would pay 3 of my bills with a little left over, but when I inherit the house I will have more so I want to be able to cover most of those also. Looking at the chart you can see what percentage of  dividend was from each company this month.  You can look at the past dividends page which has now been updated Past Dividends.

With $659.82 brought in this month and a total of $5955.67 I am 81.58 percent of my Bronze level goal of $7300.   I still expect to make my goal this year. My 12 month out  Prospective dividend rose from $7600.12 to $7666.06

I have been making some changes to my Portfolio,  to streamline it into a portfolio that is driven by dividend increases. The portfolio will be better in the long run because of this. The portfolio page has been updated here.

For those that like total return I am  gonna start including it in here, I myself just care about the dividends but some like the total return

Since June 18 when i first moved my money  through October 31st, 2019 I have a 15.67%  S&p 500 TR is 15.43%  increase. Increase from Jan 1st -October 31st 22.92%  S&p 500 TR is 23.16%  for the month of October it is 3.14% to 2.17%  to the S&P 500 TR.

How was your month? Let me know in the comments below.

  1. Good job beating the s snd p. I trail the s and p as I have always kept some bond funds in my portfolio. Nevertheless my dividends keep going up. I could retire soon IF I wanted to!

  2. Doug, love the comment on viewing dividend as having a part time job with doing little to no work. I’ll also add that this part time job often gives you an annual raise between 7 and 10 percent (through yearly dividend raises)!
Looks like another solid month for you, congrats. Total return looks great too vs S&P

  3. Whoa, those NRZ and MO dividends really led the way for you in October. However, several other names saw good boosts as well. You’ve been investing diligently and the results continue to show.

  4. It’s really cool to read that you could live off your dividends and other income now if you wanted to. But I’d do what you’re doing too! More dividends will be a better life, plus provide a bit more of a buffer.

    Nice work this month!

    Cheers,
    Mr DDU
