August Dividend Report

image My favorite time of the month is here when we start reading peoples dividend reports and see how great you guys did and compute mine so we can see how I did. This month is no exception September is here Pumpkin spice coffee is already at SBUX and is probably best thrown in the trash after you order it but none the less another month is in the books.

August was the first full month that my sharebuilder account had been transferred over to Merrill Edge. So now while its hard to say its now a  Merrill Edge account.

Along with my bigger purchase of KDP earlier in the month which I wrote about I alo purchased a smaller amount of VOD on August 20th for 5 shares with a price of $22.97 for a total of $114.85, commission free. This buy adds $8.75 to my forward dividends. Small buys count  also and I want every dollar to count so we are. smaller buys we will  describe here unless i make a few of them throughout a week.

Now it is time to see how well i did this month

Additions to T was the big driver this month plus the additions of Gis and newly bought Starbucks. Looking at the chart you can see what percentage of  dividend was this month.

As you can see i brought in $545.16 from 12 different companies. If i were to go to my Durango Joes coffee shop at 2.97 a cup times 31 is 92.07.  That would  leave me with a nice $453.09 to put towards my bills with 31 days in August . But i am going to eventually put it all back in the stock market, we brought in $17.58 a day.  This is a 70% increase over last August. Total for year now we have brought in $3713.85 which brings our total per day $15.28. This also put us ahead of last years total. Total lifetime tracked dividends is $14,524.01. Definatly seeing the results as our estimated income for this year stands at $5570. Dollars for this year. The 12 month rolling estimated dividend stands at $6262.41. You can see the results after time a mix of dividend reinvestment and adding on my own has helped this tremendously.

How was your dividend haul? Did you do better than expected? Let me know in the comments below.

  1. D&H –

Dividends and more dividends. THat is what it’s all about. I also moved from CapitalOne Investing but moved to Ally instead, due to the savings account they have there, and my ability to really reduce trading fees. Nice job with your income, it’s incredible.

  2. Impressive report with a solid 70% increase from last year. We share several companies, including O, GIS, SBUX, T, AAPL. August was good for me too. I crossed the 3-digit mark for the first time in a single month.

Glad to see you had a smooth transition from your ShareBuilder account.

  3. Some very nice YoY growth here, leading to a terrific dividend total. That’s a lot of cups of coffee!
Looks like 3 companies delivered most of the dividends, about 70%. Are you looking to have more of the dividends come from other sources in the future?

  4. Nice haul of dividends for the month, Doug! $545.16 is a nice chunk of passive income. I would say I was on pace for my dividends this month. I didn’t earn a huge amount but the YOY growth was nice.

    1. Keep adding and it will grow dont be like me and take a few years off here and there. As long as you can getting the huge YOY early it will grow quick. get some dividend raises in there also and bam you are up there. thanks for stopping by and commenting.
